Pop, lock, and dance your way to our hip-hop class, a high-energy session that encourages students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements. These sessions are taught by LaTrea Derome.

Instructor: LaTrea Derome is a Pittsburgh artist who has worked with the STAYCEE PEARL dance project & Soy Sos for the past three seasons. Originally from Cincinnati, Derome is a graduate of Point Park University where he obtained his BA in Theater Arts while minoring in dance. He has worked with several theater companies including The REP, City Theater, Pittsburgh Playwrights and Pittsburgh Musical Theater, where he is also a musical theater jazz dance teacher for the conservatory. Derome has additionally worked with Anthony Williams (Loving Black), Attack Theatre and The Opera Theater of Pittsburgh.

The Alloy School is made possible with support from The Grable Foundation and is relaunched in collaboration with PearlArts as part of the PearlArts @ KST Mutual-Aid Residency.
