EXPOSURE ARTIST FELLOWSHIP

PEARLARTS AT KST MUTUAL-AID RESIDENCY
KST is thrilled to announce a two-year mutual-aid residency for PearlArts and their dance company, STAYCEE PEARL dance project & Soy Sos (SPdp&SS). These two black-led arts organizations are partnering to share resources and work together to reestablish East Liberty as a hub for the Pittsburgh arts community. FRESHWORKS
Freshworks is KST’s creative residency for artists and collaborators based in the greater Pittsburgh region. Freshworks made its debut in 2013 and supports playful exploration in performance through interdisciplinary work in contemporary dance, theater, music, and multimedia. Find out more and apply!
LOCAL & GLOBAL PERFORMANCE
KST Presents brings evening-length dance, theater, music, and multidisciplinary performance works, from local and global artists to our Pittsburgh stages on an ongoing basis. KST works with artists on grant opportunities including National Dance/Theater Project, National Performance Network Creation Fund Commissions and Advancing Black Arts to realize these projects.
CO-PRESENTATIONS
KST Presents collaborates with producing partners on projects, and/or artist presentations. Historic co-presentation partners have included The Legacy Arts Project, The Philippine American Performing Arts of Pittsburgh, Center for African American Poetry and Poetics, CMU School of Drama John Wells Directing Program.
ARTIST COUNCIL
With support from The Pittsburgh Foundation, KST Presents has launched an Artist Council to work with the KST Presents Programming Team on shaping our portfolio of programs. Read more about the Artist Council members here.

MARKING THIS MOMENT: PITTSBURGH ARTISTS IN 2020
KST is pleased to announce the application for two artistic fellowships as a part of Marking this Moment in Time: Pittsburgh Artists in 2020, a special initiative of The Heinz Endowments. Through the fellowship artists are to produce new artistic work documenting the regional impact of COVID-19 and systemic racism in 2020. Learn more about the artists.
MY PEOPLE
My People is a festival of QTPOC Arts and Artists, established for KST’s namesake Billy Strayhorn. My People is imagined as a long weekend of programming featuring local artists and creating intersections for national connection.
SUNSTAR: WOMXN + MUSIC
KST’s annual Sunstar Festival celebrates the power and diversity of womxn in art and creativity. Since its 2009 inception, Sunstar has endeavored to highlight a diversity of womxn musicians and to center BIPOC womxn. For Spring 2022, the focus of our Sunstar Festival is KST’s The Black Femme Musical Artist Incubator (BFMA). Through this new program, KST seeks to use Sunstar as an opportunity to build out a model of support for Black femmes pursuing music in our city. Read more here!
FAMILY PROGRAMMING
KST Presents annually puts on two youth focused engagements, Halloween Mayhem and a celebration for Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Both events celebrate our youth and the arts with performance offerings from local youth arts groups and engaging activities hosted by community partners.
