The Canvas of Words Poetry series features local poets and visual artists expressing themselves through various art forms.
On the stage and in the lobby of the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, artists express themselves in a judge free zone, and share their personal stories and testimonies. Through art, this series allows our community to dialogue with those who may or may not understand the struggles of our community.
Artists are divided into 3 different categories (Self-Taught, Amateur, & Professional), while they share their stories through poetry and live painting. Visual art will be available for purchase.
