Penn Avenue Creative Residency

Liana Maneese delves into issues of racial identity from her unique perspective as a transracial adoptee through her work with Adopting Identity. Leading a series of conversations and workshops, Maneese educates transracial families and their communities on building strong healthy ecosystems of support. Maneese also curates an exhibit in KST’s Alloy Studios, exploring the nuances of race, culture, geography and familial relationship. During her residency, she encourages community members to reflect on profound questions regarding identity and home, while creating tools necessary to truly support the distinct needs of transracial adoptees.

Presented as part of Penn Avenue Creative, an accelerator program for emerging artists, entrepreneurs, social change leaders and visionaries.
